The Town of Pound Ridge is located on the Conneticut border of Westchester County, adjacent to New Canaan and Stamford. It is approximately 18 miles northeast of White Plains and 48 miles from mid-town manhattan. An area characterized by lush wooded hills, rugged cliffs and outcroppings make for scenic travel. Pound Ridge offers a unique setting for elegant country life: antique colonials, historically significant and beautifully restored are prominent along the winding lanes quietly compatible with some spectacular modern contemporaries set on high cliffs. And others are tucked away in total seclusion. A community for those who enjoy small town life and tranquility. The Ward Pound Ridge Reservation offers 4,315 acres of marked trails, ski trails, horse trails and shelters for camping enthusiasts. The Nature Conservatory, Halle Ravine and gifted land to the town all total over one-third of the town's acreage reserved for green peace space and or recreational use. Pound Ridge is served by two school districts. School age students in the central and southern portion of the town attend Bedford Central Schools: Pound Ridge Elementary (Grades K to 5), Fox Lane Middle School (Grades 6,7, and 8) and Fox Lane High School. The northern part of the town is in the Katonah Lewisboro District's elementary schools and John Jay Middle and High Schools. Both school systems offer quality education and wide range of inter-scholastic sports and activities. Scotts Corners, a quaint hamlet in Pound Ridge offers shopping, strolling and casual dining within a country village.
